World Record Pike - Fishing for Pike

Got Pike?

Is it a world or state record? Tony Bushinski is a professional fisherman and guide who specializes in Smallmouth Bass (surface/top water), Northern Pike and the rare Silver Pike. He has been fishing in the beautiful Ely, Minnesota area for more than thirty years and has been guiding professionally, primarily on Snowbank and Basswood Lake, for the last ten years.

The world record Silver Pike was pulled from Disapointment Lake (BWCAW) Lake County, Minnesota and weighed 18 lbs. 14 oz.

The Minnesota state record Northern Pike was caught on Basswood Lake, Lake County and weighed 45 lbs 12 oz.

In the last three summers Tony and his children have caught and released over 100 Silver Pike of which five were over 10 lbs. They averaged one Silver Pike for every four Northern Pike.
